CV Maker (“the App”) is provided by YSmartX. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App, including free features and Premium features. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account & Profile Data (optional): name, email, and profile details you provide to create or enhance your resume/CV.
- Content You Create: resume sections, templates, images you choose to attach, and custom settings (e.g., colors, layout).
- Usage Data: in-app interactions, feature usage, performance metrics, and diagnostics to help us improve stability and UX.
- Device & Technical Data: device model, OS version, language, app version, IP (ephemeral), crash logs, and similar technical identifiers.
- Purchase & Subscription Data (Premium): purchase token/receipt validation status, product ID, and non-sensitive billing status needed to manage your Premium access.
- Analytics: we use analytics (including Mixpanel) to understand feature adoption and improve the product. Analytics can include usage events tied to a pseudonymous identifier.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and personalize App features (including resume generation and template customization).
- Enable and manage Premium features, including verifying purchase status and entitlements.
- Improve performance, reliability, and user experience through aggregate analytics (e.g., Mixpanel events).
- Communicate with you about updates, changes to terms or policies, and important notices.
- Prevent misuse, secure the service, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We may use local storage or similar technologies for preferences and session state. If we display web content, embedded pages may use cookies. You can control cookies via your browser settings; some features may not function without them.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on trusted providers to operate and improve the App. These providers may process limited personal data on our behalf and are obligated to protect it.
- Analytics: Mixpanel (product analytics and event tracking for improving features and understanding usage patterns).
- Crash & Diagnostics: tools that help us investigate stability issues (e.g., crash logs).
- Payments/Subscriptions (Premium): platform billing services (e.g., Apple App Store / Google Play) to process purchases and validate entitlements.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete resume content from within the App. Where feasible, we minimize and pseudonymize analytics data.
6. Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We continuously improve protections and restrict access to authorized personnel and processors.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We implement safeguards consistent with applicable law for cross-border data transfers.
9. Your Choices & Rights
- Access & Correction: you can view and edit your resume content in the App.
- Delete: you can remove resume content; you may also request deletion of account-related data (if applicable).
- Analytics Opt-Out: where available, you can adjust in-app privacy settings or system-level advertising/analytics settings to limit analytics.
- Region-Specific Rights: depending on your location (e.g., EU/EEA, UK, California), you may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise them.
10. Links to Other Sites
The App may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and/or on our website and update the effective date above. Material changes may also be communicated in-app.
